What you need to know about Bill 27 and Altis’ License Status

New licensing requirements for Temporary Help Agencies (THAs) and Recruiters in Ontario are now in effect.

As July 1, 2024, new provisions for Bill 27 (Working for Workers Act) officially came into effect, making it mandatory for THAs and/or Recruiters in Ontario to have a license to operate. It also requires that all employers who use staffing services in Ontario only work with licensed firms.

The primary goal of Bill 27 is to ensure that there are legislative safeguards to protect the interests of both employers and job seekers, ensuring fair and ethical practices within our industry. You can read more about the legislation HERE.

How can you make sure a staffing firm is licensed?

We encourage you to verify that all your staffing suppliers, including Altis, are licensed to operate in Ontario as follows:

  1. Visit the province’s website.
  2. Search for the staffing firm name (i.e. Altis).
  3. Verify that the firm is licensed in the License status column.
